VFP Says: No Cluster Bombs!

The Biden Administration’s recent decision to provide cluster munitions to Ukraine bodes grave humanitarian consequences. Such bombs are notoriously unreliable, often failing to fully detonate and lying dormant as unexploded ordnance—waiting for a hapless civilian, perhaps a child, to accidentally trigger an explosion that will cost a foot, a hand, a face, or a life. Which is why 123 nations have joined the Convention on Cluster Munitions, calling for the worldwide eradication of these barbaric weapons. We call for the immediate reversal of this ill-thought decision and for the United States to join the ranks of sensible nations in the Convention on Cluster Munitions.

VFP members and supporters in Evansville, Indiana, gather to denounce the decision by the U.S. to send cluster munitions to Ukraine. Saturday, July 22, 2023.
