Enough conflict. Let's have peace.

September 21 is International Peace Day. Veterans For Peace in Evansville invites you to join us and people of good will the world over as we uphold and celebrate the desire for peace, the deepest desire of humanity.

Our world seems to be unraveling. Violence, greed, and injustice have taken center stage. It’s tempting to close our eyes and imagine those distant wars are not our problem, not our doing, and that we cannot bring about their end.

But we know peace abroad begins with peace at home. An act of kindness, a gentle word of encouragement, a helping hand to one in need — little seeds of peace here create ripples that reach there. As the 2026 Peace Day theme reminds us, the promise of a world at peace requires that people “invest in peace for everyone, everyday, everywhere.”

So, think about how can create ripples of peace in the course of your daily activities. Bolster your creative energy with a renewed conviction that peace is possible and worth seeking. And feel free to share your ideas here so others can see them and create more ripples.

And — if you like music and art — join us for a Peace Concert and Art Exhibit on the evening of Sep. 21 at The Barn (see below).

All of us with Veterans For Peace hope you find the peace you seek. Together, we can move our world toward peace. Let’s make peace the new normal!
